‘World’s Cutest Dog’ Boo’s Mom Works at Facebook
If you have Web access and, well, a soul, chances are you’re a fan of the self-proclaimed “World’s Cutest Dog,” Boo.
The 6-year-old pomeranian has a one-of-a-kind hairdo, a book deal, nearly 5 million Facebook fans and even a plush look-alike. Who does he share the glory with? We had no idea — until now.
After nearly three years in the shadows, anonymous tips to AllThingsD reveal that Boo’s human mother is a Facebook employee named Irene Ahn.
Irene holds a leading position in the social network’s finance department, where she’s worked since December, 2008. The puzzle pieces are all fitting together; Facebook apparently idolizes the little guy.
Until now, Boo has managed to avoid celebrity controversy as much as a dog who allegedly dated a pop star can. But with news like this, we can only expect rumors to swirl; did Facebook have a little something to do with Boo’s virality? Do he and Irene vacay with the Zuckerbergs? Does Boo have inside intel on when we’re all finally switching to Timeline?
Those things are probably going to remain a mystery; Ahn is declining interviews with the press and Boo only speaks Pomeranian outside of his book and Facebook page. The spotlight is staying fixed on the pup, just as it should.
