‘Final Fantasy’ Coming to OUYA Console

The OUYA, the hackable, Android-based game console — announced Tuesday they are partnering with Square Enix to bring their games to the console when it comes to market next year.
Final Fantasy III will be a launch title on the console, according to the OUYA’s Kickstarter page. The game will be updated to support the console’s HD graphics and Tegra 3 processor.
This is the third committed title to be announced for the OUYA, which launched its Kickstarter on July 10 with very little information about what games would come to the console. Since its launch, OUYA has raised more than $5.8 million in funding from those interested in supporting and preordering units.
Other titles that have been announced include Hawken, an upcoming multiplayer mech combat game, and prequel chapters to Human Element, a zombie survival game from the designer behind Call of Duty.
Last week, OUYA announced a partnership with OnLive, which will bring the cloud gaming company’s selection of AAA titles to the console.
Final Fantasy III was released for the Nintendo DS in 2006. It was the only Final Fantasy title not to be released in America before that; it was originally released for the Japanese market in 1990.
As one backer, Marios Santos Ramos wrote, "Having a dedicated and open console and being able to log into your OnLive account would make this machine a dream in the living room."

"We've packed this little box full of power. Developers will have access to OUYA's open design so they can produce their games for the living room, taking advantage of everything the TV has to offer," the company wrote on their Kickstarter page.
"Please note that the design is still in progress--but we couldn’t hold out any longer. We needed you to know that the controller has two handles. You can hold it in both hands," read the reveal.
